Our Story

In 2014, my husband, Jake and I moved to Waiheke from Sydney, where I worked in corporate events for eight years.  In that role I created and ran events ranging from three day conferences for 300 people, to small breakfast workshops and celebratory dinners. These days, free time with our two children, means exploring Waiheke’s many beaches, or sampling delicious Waiheke wines and food with friends.  The sheer range of exquisite vistas and fun places to discover seems never-ending!

Jake works in the wine industry and I have the privilege of running The Island Collection, combining my penchant for creating memorable, beautiful and seamless events with my knowledge of Waiheke.   People – my Island Collection clients – are at the heart of what I do.  Everyone has a dream, a vision, a wish-list for their event … and my role is to transform ideas into reality.

Jake and I got married on my parent’s property in the Wairarapa. We had a marquee and planned every detail ourselves hiring pretty much everything, right down to the teaspoons. It was fun, but so much work!  I really learned the value of getting help, especially having someone come in and run the day, enabling the bride, groom and their families to be in the moment and enjoy themselves.

The Island Collection does it all. We offer styling/designing, planning and on-the-day coordination of events of all sizes. We also have a stylish and affordable range of hire items – furniture, décor, lighting and sound equipment – which we deliver and set up. We’ll sort your music too, with options of live bands, acoustic musicians and DJs.  We can even organise some island-appropriate wedding cars.
